40s apartments


My street was full of these, but they're all being torn down to build semi-identical hotels. This is probably next to go.

  1. That's really gorgeous. I didn't know that Istanbul was good for early Modernism. You would think the city authorities would realize what a benefit historic architecture is for tourism and building a vibrant city center.

  2. You would, especially if you're unfamiliar with the city authorities. They're incredibly short-sighted. I live around these buildings, and they tear them down faster than I can photograph them.
